Lake Rotoiti

Spent the long weekend away at Lake Rotoiti with Liggy, Karla, Lanny, Mark and some of their friends. A great weekend with games, fishing, drinking and eating. Mia went for a swim with Lanny in the Lake and then told her a big long story about it, she has started back with the blethering!
Was very hot most of the time which made is hard for Mia to sleep and too hot for us to walk around so a trip to Rotarua cooled us down (I wanted to stand in a beer fridge for the aftfernoon!)
We did a few fishing trips but only one was successful (the one i wasn't on!). Also enjoyed croquet but didn't manage to play the 'deciding game' between Paul and i so we must buy a set....i will win!!

Busy Friday

Getting ready for yet another weekend away, but looking forward to it!
Went to visit Nana Jean and Granddad before they leave for their weekend away to Paihia. Mia was full of smiles to see them and has all sorts of little games to play with Granddad now.
Then off to see Max and Cassie for lunch. Max just got his first tooth! He wasn't too keen on showing it off though. He is so good on his tummy, stays there for ages, i think his Mummy will be chasing a crawling baby around the house in no time.

Mission Bay

Caught up with Granddad this morning while I looked at some new cars. Mia has a new car seat (while the car that Mummy crashed gets repaired!) which she is not at all impressed with, she wriggles around desperately trying to get comfortable so she can sleep but it never seems to work. Too used to the good stuff already i say.

This afternoon we caught up with Kathryn and Sally at Mission Bay for coffee. Sal was looking gorgeous as always and had bought along her snazzy bike. If she isn't riding on it then she is pushing it along. Kathryn was just mentioning that she can walk fine holding on to things but hasn't done it on her own yet. Sally must have been listening to us because i just looked at her blogspot to see that she took her first six steps tonight!!
We had to borrow Sally's hat at lunch as i had forgotten Mia's. Mia had a lovely time lying on the grass playing with Sally's feet!

My favourite spot

Nanna Jean and Granddad arrived back on Friday night from Scotland. Loads of smiles at the airport (not sure if Mia's or Granddad's was bigger!). She settled into her favourite little pearch in granddads arms straight away.
On Saturday we had birthdays, Mia turned four months old and Paul had another birthday party at a Karaoke bar (he even started the singing off lucky us!). So Nanna and Granddad were only given one night home before babysitting started again, Mia was good to them though and slept till 8.30am.

Started noticing how quickly Mia is growing now, she fits her new pj's and look oh so cute in them. I'll have to start trying out lots of her new outfits so i don't miss any out.

Picnic in the Park

Caught up with Jane, Molly, Cassie and Max in the Domain for a picnic on Tuesday. Great to see them all again, amazing how quickly all the bubba's grow! Looking forward to our weekly catch ups again.

The PERFECT weekend!

A surprise weekend for Paul's 30th. We left Auckland on Friday with Paul driving and me giving him pieces of the map as we went. The trip ended in Hawkes Bay at a beautiful house called Millar Road in Havelock North overlooking a vineyard and the sea.
Next surprise was that Alannah and Mark had also driven down earlier that morning and were waiting for Paul when we arrived.
On Paul's birthday we went to Craggy Range for a long leisurely lunch (Mia was an angel) and ate and drunk the afternoon away. Cocktails and more food for dinner the whole weekend was about food and wine.
Mia had her first swim which she seemed to like, i think she was wondering why there were other people in her bath! she also had a little play on the grass for the first time.
The next day we set off for Cape Kidnappers where Mark and Paul were booked to play and the third surprise was revealed...Brent had driven up from Wellington that morning to join the boys at golf (just as well because he won!!).
Had to fit in one last wine and more food before we left so off to Mission Estate for lunch on the Monday
We had perfect weather, and just the best time. HAPPY 30th DADDY!!

Another Weekend trip

off to Pauanui again for the weekend, absolutely perfect weather the whole time! (a little too hot for babies to go to the beach though).
All the girls came down with us and we had a great day at the Tairua food and wine festival. I thought it might be a bit busy and noisy for Mia but she loved it, so much to look at and so much attention. She even managed to have a sleep through all the noise!

Mia stayed home with Pat the next morning so we could all go fishing, quite a successful trip, so fish for lunch and dinner!

Coffee Mission

seeing as my coffee partner is off holidaying in Scotland I thought Mia and I could go to Trinity for a coffee and it would be a good chance for Mia to have a sleep in the buggy. Coffee shop was closed and Mia was wide awake so my plan didn't really work at all. Anyway popped in to see Poppa JC who is looking after Mum's office, he even managed to coax some half smiles out of an over tired Mia.
Decided to walk further to a new coffee shop. Discovered that Mia would sleep if the buggy was going fast enough....only now i have a hot coffee when i am already hot and its all uphill back home! That's definately my exercise for the day.

Got out one of Mia's Christmas pressies which she thinks is cool, she worked out pretty quickly to push the buttons for music, it keeps her entertained for quite some time.

1st day back at work

Boo hoo holidays over and Paul had to start back at work, couldn't wait till he got home tonight! Mia was all excited to see him. Went to St Lukes after work to grab a couple of things, Mia wasn't too impressed about it (she would rather be home eating) but she did eventually go to sleep in her buggy...wish i had a camera then as she was asleep with her bottom lip out!
We have a new game where she sits on my knee then i stand her up and then fall down to sitting again, she can play for ages and giggles everytime.
