10 Weeks!

Mia was ten weeks today...i can't believe it. she is really becoming her own little person now, pretty chatty and smiley most of the time. Today we went for lunch for Virginia's birthday with mum, dad and amy. Mia decided she doesn't like to miss out on anything so Grandad ended up holding her so she could have a good look around. i think we might have to change her buggy to the seat now, there is too much for her to miss out on in the basinet....and she knows it.
Grandad dropped us home but just before he left Mia had one more story to tell him, it must have been a funny one as she found it quite amusing!

Lunches

Had lunch with Grandad at Carriages in Kumeu yesterday then lunch today with Nana and Grandad at Trinity, Mia thought she was quite a big girl sitting up at the table on Grandad's knee. she has discovered a whole new angle on life with this sitting up thing (assisted of course!), so now she likes to sit in her pink bouncy and watch me go about the house while she chats away to me. i have a suspision she is going to be a talker...just like her mother and granmother really!

Sally's Birthday

Sally Leach had her 1st birthday today. It was the first birthday that Mia has been to...all the party people must have been a bit overwhelming as she cried the whole time!! It was a nice afternoon though and cute to see all the girls in their party outfits and playing pass the parcel together - there was even a pressie for Mia.

Hide and Seek

Mia thought she pretend she was a bit shy so she hid in Grandad's arms the other day, so cute.

The Big Day

Mia had her christening yesterday. A big day for her with loads of attention. She was a bit vocal at the church but went quiet at all the right times, even gave the priest her best smile and a little hello while he was blessing her! Alannah and Craig were great Godparents.

The weather was beautiful so everyone came back to our house for drinks and nibbles (and a beautiful Christening cake by Alannah). She just loved all the attention - great having Libby Jean and Natalia on hand for babysitting duty too!

She got so many beautiful gifts and we all really enjoyed the day so a big thank you to everyone for coming and for all her wonderful pressies!

Super tired by the end of the day so she said good night to everyone and cuddled into granddad - he must have done a good job as she had one of her biggest sleeps yet.

Busy Day

Started the day with a baby massage course, a lovely relaxing experience...not! Mia wasn't impressed, cried the whole way through it (except for when she was being fed) so we have decided to wag the rest of massage school.

then off to meet Cassie and baby Max for a huge walk (about 10mins) before we had lunch at Mission Bay then back to Vanessa's for a wine.

Paul wanted to show Mia off to work again so we all met up at Pink for a coffee, Paul, Alannah and Amy. Once Paul went up stairs with Mia all us girls made a quick break for the pub!

Mia was off to Nana Jean's and Poppa Jacks for the night and i have just heard that she has done her best sleeps yet....cross your fingers that this is a sign of things to come!!

Just about to get ready for the big Christening and party tomorrow so best get going.

Day with my Dad

Mia and I were sick today so Paul stayed home to look after us. They were soon left alone though when Poppa Jack and I went to the supermarket and got stuck there for most of the afternoon as the truck broke down and we had to be towed away! Just as well Mia stayed home with Paul...can you imagine!

So Paul and Mia went for a lovely walk up Mt Albert and had a picnic (not that Paul shared his sammies), she was aparantly spellbound by the trees and all their shadows.

Poppa Jack and Nana Jean came by on the way home for a cuddle and Mia told them all about her day and saved some smiles for them.

Love the Truck

Mum had to go to the hairdressers this morning so Poppa Jack looked after me, he thought I looked so peaceful sleeping in the truck so he drove around for the whole time....i love that truck!

Went for a practice run for Sunday's Christening. Still deciding if i am going to be well behaved for Alannah or not! Then Nana Jean came back for a cuddle and gave me my dinner.

Dinner

Had dinner with Nana Pat and Poppa JC. Mia had a right old chat with Nanna Pat, I could hear them from the back room!

Hanging out with all the babies

Went for coffee today with Sally and Kathryn, much more civilized watching a baby shake their head when she doesn't want anymore food than spit it back out at you like Mia does! Sally has her birthday coming up soon, a big one year old.

Then went up to visit Jane and Molly, can't believe she is five weeks already, looking very cute too. We all walked around to see Vanessa and her new arrival Olivia, its amazing the difference in size from new born to seven weeks, no wonder they are tired all the time!

Off to have dinner with Nana Pat and Poppa JC now

Walking & Friends

Decided that Poppa Jack and I should go for a walk to Kingsland for a coffee without thinking it through properly...took 2hours!! just as well Poppa Jack pushed the pram the whole way.

Caught up with the antenatal girls again for lunch (Molly four weeks, Max ten weeks). We look like such little mummies all sitting around the table feeding the babies while trying to eat and drink with one hand. Next week there are two other mummies joining us so i think it is time we moved to the beach or somewhere as we take up enough space with just three of us.

Popped into New Lynn Barfoot & Thompson just long enough to get a cuddle from Jen (and leave a lasting impression on her shirt!). She certainly let us all know it was her dinner time.

Visited plunkett this week, she thought Mia was doing wonderfully and was impressed by her chubby thighs (sadly she gets those from her mother!). Had a good sleep last night so mum and dad are bright as buttons today. Mias is off to Nana Jeans and Poppa Jack for the night tonight, so we get to go on a date!! (can't imagine we will last too long, sleep sounds too wonderful at the moment!)

My Boyfriend

Had Max and his family over for dinner the other night, along with Alannah and Mark. Seeing as he is the only other male baby we know, we have decided that they are boyfriend and girlfriend! She goes for the older man as he is three weeks older and over 2ft tall (we had quite a laugh about how he is nearly half my height already at just ten weeks of age!!)

Also went to coffee during the day with Uncle Craig and Amy (sorry i have left the photo on another computer but promise to add it tomorrow).

Mia is growing so quickly now, she has smiles for everyone (even the lining of her pram!) and is becoming a right little chatter box.

Jabs & Tears

Not a good day in Mia's world...i had to go for my first immunization jabs! It was awful, three injections at once, both Mummy and I were upset. But a quick visit up to Nana and Poppa Jacks fixed everything.

On a more cheerful note Mia has developed a lot more interest in her toys and other things around her now, she can stare and smile at them for quite some time, and sometimes has a little blether to them. Her latest favouite is a red and white Giraffe from Virginia and the kids.

My Daddy

After a big night out with work Paul was feeling the after effects so I woke up to Paul and Mia both sound asleep on the couch together - too cute!

Went for coffee today and hung out for the day. Then up to Nana Jean's and Poppa Jack's for a bbq. Not too sure how much sleep Mia will be getting tonight will all the fireworks going off.

Out & About

Soccer season's here again so now we have a new mascot (can't pay too much attention to the game from her buggy though!). Amy did a great job of rocking me to sleep while Mum played soccer....or tried to play soccer.

Paul went away for a work conference so Alannah & Mark came to help for the night, must have worked becuase Mia slept for five whole hours!! yeah says mum!

Went walking at Mission Bay today with the other mummies from our antenatal class. Cassie and Max (nine weeks), Jane and Molly (three weeks) and Vanessa with bump (should be one week!). Hard to miss us taking up all the pavement and half the cafe with all the buggies and gear.

Visiting Nana Jean this afternoon to cheer her up after getting her teeth done and to show off my gorgeous outfit that Elizabeth & Alannah bought me. Poppa Jack thinks I'm the prettiest baby in the land!
